Bold florals, lush fabrics, graphic patterns and mix and match styles were heavy on the runways this past spring, and the same “boho chic” is also a major interior design trend this year. Bohemian style is perfect for those who think outside the box when it comes to fashion or interior design. The key to “boho chic” is to make it look unplanned and effortless.

A successfully designed room in this rebel style should feel collected; filled with fabrics, furniture, accessories, and art from around the world, or from wherever your travels take you. There’s a certain messiness to this style; kind of a controlled chaos. Bohemian styled rooms should be a feast for the eyes in color, pattern and texture. Nothing ever matches, but everything always mixes.

BoHo Chic

The Savvy team created this wonderful bohemian inspired loft for a young couple living in St. Louis’ trendy Central West End. Note the perfect blending of disparate design styles: a rustic, reclaimed wood table with contemporary silver metal chairs, a jute rug, open shelving, eclectic accessories, an antique chest, and a gorgeous crystal triple globe chandelier that has a decidedly Moroccan feel blend beautifully. The graphic, black and white painted wall treatment is the tour de force in this space.
